Rant about context (Gay Batman)
So, I’m getting really fed up with one of my flatmates. Not that flatmate, this one I usually like but she’s getting really silly.
I’m just gonna have a rant now because she sent me an article saying “Omg, Cazz, Batman is gay? Did you know Batman was gay?”
Actually I knew Batman was supposedly the gayest character on the DC circuit. But this was because he has that “do what you gotta do, be who you need to be” attitude and the tight pants.
Anyway, the link she sent me to said that a prominent DC character will be coming out and the article was arguing for the fact that Batman was a closet gay and should say that way. Everyone else seeing why this is different to what she said
DC haven’t even outed their mystery character yet as far as I’m aware, I don’t know if she read the article, and you probably all think I’m crazy for being annoyed by this, but this is just the top of a growing mountain of out of context comments she makes every day. Mostly she just doesn’t listen to reasoned argument or … well anything actually.
Ok. Rant over. But seriously…

Petty fighting
Scrubs said about getting as many useless people as possible in the room and then the flatmate I hate walked into the room. I appreciate the humour :p
I should say, I tried very hard to like her, but she hates me so much it’s just less stressful this way.
Such as yesterday when she said that people who sleep more are more intelligent. She got intelligence and the conversion of memories from short term to long term confused. I tried gently explaining to her what the difference was and she told me that she could call her third year psychology friend to tell me why she was right. I agreed. This phone call did not happen.
Now she is drumming very loudly on her knees and the table and trying to stare me out. You gotta love petty fighting :)

Having major nerdgasms over the Oxford English Dictionary online.
You know the average English persons vocabulary is 20,000 words and there are currently over 600,000 words in the OED and growing! That means even if I learn a new word every day it will take me a minimum of 1589 years to learn all the words! And that’s without including all the words that aren’t in there/ don’t yet exist!
Our language is just too fucking awesome.
